Bill Murray Reveals That He's Playing a Villain in Marvel's ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA
A couple of months ago Bill Murray let the cat out of the bag that he was going to be in Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Qauntumania. It was pretty cool and surprising to learn that the legendary actor and comedian was going to be in the movie and fans have been wondering who he will end up playing.
Well, during a recent appearance on The Eli Manning Show, Murray revealed a new little detail about his role in the film. Murray simply said that he’s playing a “bad guy.” That’s pretty much it, he didn’t expand on that, all we know now, though, is that he’s playing a villain, and that’s pretty cool! I wouldn’t have expected that, but I like it! Now we’ll just have to wait and see what kind of villain that he’ll be playing.
When previously talking about joining the movie, Murray said, "You know, recently I made a Marvel movie. I probably won't tell you, but never mind. In any case, some people were quite surprised why I decided on such a project. But for me the thing was quite clear: I got to know the director – and really liked him very much," Murray told a German magazine last year (through a translation by Cosmic Circus). “He was funny, humble, everything you want from a director. And with the cheerleader story Bring It On he made a movie years ago, which I think is damn good. So I agreed, although I'm not interested in these huge comic book adaptations as an actor otherwise."
While Murray is set to be in this Marvel movie, don’t expect to see Murray join another comic book movie, though. Ant-Man is going to be it for him. He said, "Let's put it this way: the director is a good guy, and now I've at least tried out what it's like to shoot a Marvel movie. But I don't think I need that experience a second time. And to come back to your previous question: I have mostly had a pretty good knack for avoiding the nasties of this industry. Fortunately, most good artists are also good people. At least that's how I experience it with my friends."
