Bill Nighy and More Join Star-Studded Cast of Audible’s Full-Cast HARRY POTTER Audiobooks
Audible's massive full-cast Harry Potter audiobook series just locked in the last wave of actors, and it’s a lineup worth getting excited about.
Among the newly announced names is none other than Bill Nighy, stepping into the role of Professor Slughorn. Fans may remember him as Rufus Scrimgeour in the Warner Bros. films, but this time he’s trading politics for potions.
Nighy shared in a statement. “I was pleased to be asked to play the Professor after having already played a Minister for Magic. Is it possible that I’m the only actor who can claim that achievement?
“It means that my career continues to have meaning for the next couple of generations. I’m always grateful when asked to play academics having not been further educated myself.
“I’m hoping to be a significant part of something that will keep children entertained in the car on those long journeys overseas or just on the way to school.”
Alongside Nighy, this final batch of casting includes some cool picks including David Holmes (who performed stunt work in the original films) as Stan Shunpike, Saoirse-Monica Jackson as Professor Trelawney, Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù as Sirius Black, Anna Maxwell Martin as Rita Skeeter, Mackenzie Crook as Kreacher, Stephen Mangan as Nearly Headless Nick, Tracy-Ann Oberman as Madam Hooch, and Millie Gubby as Luna Lovegood.
The younger versions of fan favorites are also locked in. Jude Farrant will voice Draco Malfoy in the first three books before Maximus Evans takes over for the latter half of the series. Jake Sigsworth and Archie Mountain will split duties as Neville Longbottom across the same timeline.
These additions round out the casting for Harry Potter: The Full Cast Audio Editions, an ambitious reimagining from Audible and Pottermore Publishing. The project already made headlines with a stellar lead ensemble that includes Hugh Laurie as Albus Dumbledore, Matthew Macfadyen as Lord Voldemort, Riz Ahmed as Professor Snape, Michelle Gomez as Professor McGonagall, and Cush Jumbo narrating the series.
The core trio of young wizards will be brought to life by Frankie Treadaway as Harry Potter, Max Lester as Ron Weasley, and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger in the early books. For books 4–7, those roles shift to Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan, and Nina Barker-Francis respectively.
Recently announced names include Kit Harington as Professor Lockhart, Keira Knightley as Professor Umbridge, Iwan Rheon as Professor Lupin, Ruth Wilson as Bellatrix Lestrange, Ambika Mod as Tonks, Leo Woodall as Bill Weasley, Simon Pegg as Arthur Weasley, James McAvoy as Mad-Eye Moody, Gemma Whelan as Professor Sprout, Matt Berry as Sir Cadogan, Mark Addy as Hagrid, Alex Hassell as Lucius Malfoy, Daniel Mays as Dobby, and sisters Sara and Avni Deshmukh as the Patil twins.
The release kicks off with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone on November 4, 2025, exclusively on Audible. New entries will roll out monthly, wrapping up with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on May 12, 2026.
Here’s the full release schedule:
Chamber of Secrets – December 16, 2025
Prisoner of Azkaban – January 13, 2026
Goblet of Fire – February 10, 2026
Order of the Phoenix – March 10, 2026
Half-Blood Prince – April 14, 2026
Deathly Hallows – May 12, 2026
The original single-narrator versions from Stephen Fry and Jim Dale aren’t going anywhere either, so listeners can enjoy both styles.
With over 200 actors, this project is easily one of the most ambitious audiobook productions ever attempted.
