BILL & TED FACE THE MUSIC Will Reportedly Start Shooting This Spring!

It looks like the long awaited Bill & Ted Face The Music movie is getting very close to production! According to Production Weekly, the film will start shooting in the spring if everything goes as planned.

The movie is set to be helmed by Galaxy Quest director Dean Parisot from a script written by the original writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon. Franchise stars Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves are both coming back to reprise their roles as Bill S. Preston and Ted “Theodore” Logan.

The official Twitter account for the upcoming film also recently dropped this little tease:

Here’s a previously released synopsis:

When we last picked up with Ted “Theodore” Logan and Bill S. Preston Esq., the most audacious dudes they were time-traveling teenagers trying to pass history class and win the battle of the bands. Bill & Ted Face the Music will see the duo long past their days as time-traveling teenagers and now weighed down by middle age and the responsibilities of family. They’ve written thousands of tunes, but they have yet to write a good one, much less the greatest song ever written. With the fabric of time and space tearing around them, a visitor from the future warns our heroes that only their song can save life as we know it. Out of luck and fresh out of inspiration, Bill and Ted set out on a time travel adventure to seek the song that will set their world right and bring harmony in the universe as we know it. Together with the aid of their daughters, a new crop of historical figures, and some sympathetic music legends, they find much, much more than just a song.

Not long ago, producer Steven Spoderbergh said the script for the film was “hilarious” and that the movie could end up being released this Christmas and that maybe "that'd be a good Christmas present.”

If the movie starts shooting in March or April, there’s a good chance that the film could actually be ready by Christmas, which would be pretty amazing. I would love to see Bill and Ted back up on the big screen this year!

I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for this one and keeping an eye out for updates, so stay tuned.
