BILL & TED'S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE is Getting a 4K Theatrical Re-Release and Here's The Trailer

The original 1989 Bill & Ted movie, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure is getting a 4K remaster and theatrical re-release! That’s right! Before we see these two characters embark on their new journey in Bill & Ted Face the Music, we will be able to watch the original film with Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter on the big screen again!

Studio Canal announced the big news via Empire, and if you’ve never seen this movie on the big screen before, this is joining to be a fun little treat for you! The movie was directed by Stephen Herek from a script written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, who went on to write the sequels, Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey and Bill & Ted Face the Music.

In Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, "Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) are high school buddies starting a band. However, they are about to fail their history class, which means Ted would be sent to military school. They receive help from Rufus (George Carlin), a traveler from a future where their band is the foundation for a perfect society. With the use of Rufus' time machine, Bill and Ted travel to various points in history, returning with important figures to help them complete their final history presentation."

The 4k remaster of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure will release on 4k UHD Blu-ray, limited edition Steelbook, Blu-ray, DVD, and digital download on August 10th. The film's return to theaters was supposed to take place this summer, but a date has yet to be revealed for that.
