Billie Eilish Will Write and Perform the New James Bond Theme Song for NO TIME TO DIE
As you know, cool and stylish theme songs are a staple of the James Bond franchise. High-profile musical artists are hired to perform original music that plays during the opening credits of each film.
The next Bond film is No Time To Die, and it’s been announced that Billie Elilish will be the one to write and perform the song for it. The announcement was tweeted out by Billie Ellish and the official James Bond account.
I’m honestly not surprised. Eillish is one of the most popular musical artists right now. I’m personally not a fan, her style of music just doesn’t click with me. But it’s clicking with a lot of other people! She has a very distinct style and it’s not hard to imagine that style in a James Bond theme song.
While I don’t really understand the hype around Eillish, I hope that she delivers a new great Bond theme song. What do you all think about Ellish writing and performing the theme for No Time To Die?
Here’s the synopsis for the film:
In No Time To Die, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.
This next chapter of James Bond comes from director Cary Joji Fukunaga, and Daniel Craig is joined by Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, and Ben Whishaw as Q, with Rory Kinnear as Tanner, Lea Seydoux as Madeleine Swann, Christoph Waltz as Blofeld, and Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter. New cast members include Dali Benssalah, Billy Magnussen, Ana De Arma, David Dencik, and Lashana Lynch.
No Time To Die is set to hit theaters on April 8th, 2020.
