Billy Bob Thornton Joins Taylor Sheridan's YELLOWSTONE Prequel Series 1883
Billy Bob Thornton has joined Taylor Sheridan's upcoming Yellowstone prequel series 1883. He joins the previously cast Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and Sam Elliott. Thornton is going to fit right in with this franchise and the story that this prequel series is going to tell.
The story for this series follows “the Dutton family as they embark on a journey west through the Great Plains toward the last bastion of untamed America. It is a stark retelling of Western expansion, and an intense study of one family fleeing poverty to seek a better future in America’s promised land — Montana.”
McGraw and Hill will play James and Margaret Dutton, the Dutton family’s patriarch and matriarch. Elliott has been cast as Shea Brennan, “a tough cowboy with some underlying melancholy to be revealed as he guides the emigranrs from Texas to Montana.”
Thornton will appear in the series as Marshal Jim Courtright. There are no details on the character, but 1883 is set to premiere on Paramount+ on December 19th.
