Billy Dee Williams Confirmed To Play Lando in STAR WARS: EPSIODE IX!
Here's some great news that is sure to get Star Wars fans excited! After months of rumors and speculation, THR has confirmed that Billy Dee Willaims will reprise his role as Lando Calrissian in Star Wars: Episode IX!
This bit of casting news makes me so freakin' happy! I was really hoping that Williams would be brought back for at least one more Star Wars film and now it's happening. There are absolutely no details on how big of a part he'll play or what his role in the story will be, which means the fans can speculate all they want about how he'll fit into it. It would be great to see him have a decent sized role in the story. Maybe this time, Lucasfilm won't kill off a character from the original trilogy.
Episode IX is being directed by J.J. Abrams and will star Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac and Adam Driver. Keri Russell was also just recently joined the cast of the film, but there's no information on who she'll be playing.
The movie is set to open in theaters on December 20th, 2019. So, how do you want to see Lando utilized in this third and final chapter of the latest Star Wars saga trilogy? I hope he's still sporting a cape!
