Billy Magnussen Cast in Disney's Live-Action ALADDIN as a Character Not Seen in 1992 Animated Film

Guy Ritchie's live-action Disney movie based on the popular 1992 animated film, Aladdin has added a new cast member. Billy Magnussen (The People v. O.J. Simpson) will play a character created for the live-action musical that is not in the original animated film.

He joins Saturday Night Live alum Nasim Pedrad, who is set to play the original character Mara, a handmaiden and friend to Jasmine. They join Mena Massoud as Aladdin and Naomi Scott (Power Rangers) who will play Princess Jasmine, with Marwan Kenzari portraying the villain Jafar and Will Smith playing Genie.

Magnussen has some experience in a Disney movie. The Tony nominee played Rapunzel's prince in Disney's Into the Woods.

As of yet, no release date has been formally announced by Disney.
