BLACK MASS Director Scott Cooper Looking to Direct AMERICAN WOLF
Scott Cooper's upcoming mob film Black Mass, which stars Johnny Depp, is getting a lot of buzz. The film looks awesome, and I'm pumped up about seeing it. Cooper is now looking to get his next film project set up.
According to Variety, the director is in talks to take on a film project called American Wolf. The project is set up at Warner Bros., and Leonardo DiCaprio and his Appian Way production company are set to produce.
The movie is based on an article by Nate Blakeslee, and the story follows a hunter in Yellowstone National Park "who accidentally kills an endangered American wolf, and the unlikely friendship that forms between him and the wildlife researcher who works with wolves in the park." The wolf was known as O-Six, and film “will chronicle the impact that O-Six had on the humans around her and the vilified hunter who remains unnamed to this day, effectively making the movie a murder mystery of sorts.”
Cooper also directed the films Out of the Furnace and Crazy Heart. He's a solid filmmaker who knows how to tell good stories. This seems like it will be a great project for him to take on.
