Black Panther 2 Has Been Officially Announced With Ryan Coogler Back to Write and Direct

We just got word at D23 that Black Panther 2 has been officially announced with a release date of May 6, 2022. Ryan Coogler will be back to write and direct the film, and though we haven’t heard anything official, we are pretty sure the cast from the first film will be back in Wakanda. Chadwick Boseman is set to reprise his role of T’Challa in the upcoming animated Disney+ series, What If…?

While that release date is pretty dang far off, and a full four years after the first film, at least we know it’s coming, and we have a lot of Marvel content to fill the time. Boseman will next be seen in his upcoming Cop Drama, 21 Bridges, which will be in theatres on November 22nd. We got to see a scene from it at Comic-Con, and it looks really good.

I loved the first Black Panther film so much, so I am looking forward to this sequel immensely! Are you excited for this announcement?!
