It is with heavy hearts that we report that actor and Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman has lost his four year battle with colon cancer. He was 43 years old. Boseman began acting in TV roles in 2003, and broke onto the scene in a big way in 2013 when he portrayed baseball legend Jackie Robinson in the film 42.

He went on to act in film roles, then upped his game again when he took on the role of King T’Challa aka Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The last role we saw him in was Spike Lee’s Da 5 Bloods, and he had already shot the film Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom alongside Viola Davis, which is scheduled to come out later this year.

It is unknown if he had recorded his lines for the upcoming animated Marvel What If…? series, as it had been put on hold when the pandemic hit. But we will not see him back in the role of Black Panther, nor do we know if the 2022 sequel will even move forward at this point. But we will remember Chadwick Boseman as our King T’Challa forever.

Chadwick Boseman is survived by his wife and family, who are in our thoughts and hearts at this time.
