BLACK WIDOW Is Set to Have 30 Minutes of Expanded Ratio Footage for IMAX

The other day in an IMAX earnings call it was reportedly revealed thanks to Anton Volkov that Black Widow will feature 30 minutes of expanded IMAX footage. This expanded footage will be in the 1.90:1 ratio which shows off considerably more awesomeness. Now, there’s no way to know which sequences will be in the expanded format, but there are some pretty great contenders out there such as an aerial skydiving battle, the final fight of the film, or even the fight between Natasha and her sister.

Marvel’s spy thriller was directed by Cate Shortland and produced by Kevin Feige. In it, Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.

Scarlett Johansson reprises her role as Natasha/Black Widow, Florence Pugh stars as Yelena, David Harbour will play Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz takes on the role of Melina.

Black Widow is hopefully going to release this November in theaters, but due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we’ll have to wait and see. What scene(s) do you hope to see in the expanded format?
