BLACK WIDOW Star and Marvel Newcomer O-T Fagbenle Describes His Character as a "Fixer for Spies"
We got enough info to overload our brains at the Marvel panel this year at San Diego Comic-Con. It was tiny bits of info about a whole lot of different stuff, so while the big question, “What’s going to happen in the next phase of Marvel?” was answered, many more project-specific questions were brought up. The next movie in the lineup is Black Widow, and we were able to verify that the film will take us back to Natasha’s (Scarlett Johansson) roots in Budapest. We will meet her sister, Yelena Belova, played by Florence Pugh, with David Harbour playing Alexei/The Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz and O-T Fagbenle playing new characters Melina Vostokoff and Mason.
All we learned about Mason in the panel was Fagbenle mentioning that his character has feelings for Natasha. CB was able to catch up with the Marvel newcomer after the panel, and he expanded just a bit more on the character. Here’s what he had to say:
"I'm really excited to be part of the Marvel Universe with Scarlett, who's awesome by the way as you might imagine. She's really fun to work with and I get to play this character Mason, who's kind of a fixer for spies and those in the underworld who need a bit of help. He might be a bit more ambivalent but he has a really complex relationship with Natasha."
So we know he will be a fixer of sorts, with a complicated relationship with Natasha. It seems like everyone’s relationship with Natasha is complicated at this point in her life. But we will see it all untangle when Black Widow hits theaters on May 1, 2020.
What are you theories for what will go down in the movie?
