BLACK WIDOW to Begin Shooting in June

Black Widow was reportedly going to begin shooting within the next month, but it looks like something may have changed. According to Production Weekly (via CB), the film will begin shooting in June. This move is not unprecedented, although many are speculating that it has to do with the launch of Avengers: Endgame at the end of April. After all, it would be a shame if some leaked set photos revealed something that we were going to see in the solo film. Here’s the currently believed synopsis for the film:

At birth the Black Widow (aka Natasha Romanova) is given to the KGB, which grooms her to become its ultimate operative. When the U.S.S.R. breaks up, the government tries to kill her as the action moves to present-day New York, where she is a freelance operative. The standalone film will find Romanoff living in the United States 15 years after the fall of the Soviet Union.

This would put the film in 2005 or 2006, between the events of Captain Marvel and Iron Man. Black Widow is currently expected to release in 2020.
