BLOOD COVENANT Trailer Brings Maika Monroe and Joe Keery Into a Brutal Horror Anthology Pact

A new horror anthology is creeping onto the radar, and it’s got a gnarly hook paired with a killer cast. The first trailer for Blood Covenant is here, and it teases a grim supernatural deal that ties together multiple stories of pain, ambition, and sacrifice. I like what I’m seeing here!

The movie stars Maika Monroe and Joe Keery, two actors who feel perfectly at home in dark and unsettling territory.

Monroe, coming off her chilling turn in Longlegs, and Keery, best known to genre fans from Stranger Things, appear together in this international project that frames its horror through a single cursed creative act.

The story follows a once-promising horror writer who has hit absolute bottom. He’s broke, out of ideas, and staring down total failure. With nothing left to lose, he turns to the occult and summons a demon, hoping to get his talent back.

The ritual delivers exactly what he asks for. The stories come pouring out, his career ignites, and success finally arrives. But the price is savage. Every tale demands a sacrifice, specifically a pound of flesh.

As his fame grows, his body starts to fall apart, and the line between inspiration and suffering disappears completely. Creativity becomes an act of self-destruction, and the demon always collects.

The wraparound story is written and directed by Mariano Cattaneo, who also brings together a diverse group of filmmakers to handle the individual segments. Those shorts are directed by Kate Trefry (Stranger Things), Spencer Keller, Bret Miller, Javier Yañez, and Hasan Can Dağli.

The cast expands well beyond Monroe and Keery, with Agustín Olcese, María Eugenia Rigón, and Aria Bedmar rounding out the ensemble.

Blood Covenant is set to make its industry push soon, with Black Mandala introducing the film to buyers at the European Film Market in Berlin next month.

If the trailer is any indication, this is shaping up to be a nasty, imaginative anthology that leans hard into the cost of creation, and horror fans should keep a look out for it.
