Blood-Soaked Trailer for Syfy's Awesome New Grindhouse TV Series BLOOD DRIVE
Holy Crap! Dude, you need to check this trailer out for a new series called Blood Drive! If you enjoy blood, gore, insanity, and grindhouse style films, this is for you. One of my favorite films from director Robert Rodriguez is Planet Terror, and this new series coming to the Syfy Channel seems to be in the same vein as that.
It takes place in a near-dystopian future. Los Angeles's last good cop is forced into a cross-country death race with cars that run on HUMAN BLOOD! Hit heavy metal guitar cue now. This trailer seems to go heavy on the blood and insanity which is exactly how I like my grindhouse.
I don't like all grindhouse films. Hobo with a Shotgun was a bit too much for me. But this one seems to be taking it back to basics... girls, cars, blood, and action. It's a little bit Death Race, a little bit Troma films, and a little bit Tales from the Crypt.
After Los Angeles’ last good cop (Alan Ritchson) is forced to join a twisted cross-country death race, his only hope of survival is a dangerous femme fatale who has the need for speed (Christina Ochoa). Oh, and forget gasoline… these cars run on human blood!
I haven't been overly excited by anything I've seen from Syfy, but this has finally piqued my interest. I can't wait to see what it has to offer! The series premieres on June 14th.
