BLOODRAYNE and BLOODRAYNE 2 Deserve Another Shot

Ziggurat Interactive recently released BloodRayne: Terminal Cut and BloodRayne 2: Terminal Cut. These are slightly enhanced versions of the cult classic games from Terminal Reality in the early 2000s. Ziggurat was kind enough to give me some codes so that I could try the games out, and I think they’re gems.

Now, when I say they’re gems, I’m not saying that they’re amazing or perfect but I have been enjoying my time. Now, the Terminal Cuts really don’t do a lot other than make the game playable on modern machines. There have been some slight changes like 4x anti-aliasing and upscaled cinematics, but most won’t notice a difference. This makes it perfect for long time fans, but it also gives many of us who missed out on them a new chance to try the games. I think that these are definitely worth visiting if you have the spare $15-30 and don’t mind the almost 20 year old graphics. Yes, there are some moments where I wish the gameplay was a bit more engaging and the graphics are very much a product of their time, but for their time, they’re pretty good. Also, Laura Bailey’s voice work is awesome.

After playing these games a bit, I do kinda wish that they would get remakes or even a revival. I think the stories are intriguing and who doesn’t want to be a vampire murdering Nazis? These games aren’t necessarily for everyone, but they are definitely worth considering.
