Blumhouse Is Moving Forward with a New HALLOWEEN Sequel and the Main Cast Is Expected to Return

For those of you who were hoping to see another Halloween sequel, Blumhouse is moving forward with the development of one. According to Collider, the production company has hired Scott Teems to write the script. He recently adapted Stephen King’s Firestarter and his novella The Breathing Method.

David Gordon Green and Danny McBride wrote the script for the last film, which turned out to be great! It was a lot better than I thought it would be. It’d be a shame if they didn’t come back for the sequel. I’d want to see Green at least direct it. But you know who is coming back? Apparently the main cast, which consists of Jamie Lee CurtisJudy Greer, and Andi Matichak.

Gordon Green and McBride will most likely end up retaining their executive producer credits alongside Curtis and original Halloween director John Carpenter.

I thought the last film ended perfectly and would have made a closing to the franchise, but Blumhouse and Universal Pictures obviously want the money to keep rolling in from the franchise. As long as they are making a sequel, they better come up with a great story!

There’s no word on when we might see the sequel get released, but I imagine that if it happens it will hit theaters around Halloween 2020. It’d be crazy if they tried to rush out for Halloween of this year!

What do you think about Blumhouse moving forward with another Halloween sequel?
