Bob Iger Admits Disney Was Maybe Overzealous with STAR WARS Content

When Disney bought Star Wars, they took it and ran. We’ve got four movies so far with The Force Awakens, Rogue One, The Last Jedi and Solo. Then this year Lucasfilm will close out the Skywalker saga with The Rise of Skywalker.

There are a lot of other film projects in the works at Lucasfilm as well along with all of the series coming to Disney+. Well, the movies that have been released have not been met with as much love as Disney would’ve liked for a variety of reasons, but now Bob Iger is weighing in on what he thinks has been one of the biggest problems… They rushed everything.

I just think that we might’ve put a little bit too much in the marketplace too fast. I think the storytelling capabilities of the company are endless because of the talent we have at the company, and the talent we have at the company is better than it’s ever been, in part because of the influx of people from Fox.

I love the Star Wars franchise. However, I think that Iger is right. Putting out a new movie every year was probably oversaturation and fans needed to be eased into it at a slower pace, which is what they are planning to do now.

What do you think? Has their rush to put out so much Star Wars content been a problem?
