Here’s a bit of fun trivia regarding a cameo in Halloween Kills that you might have missed while watching the movie. It turns out that Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk appeared in the film! The actor’s name popped up on the credits, so during an interview with CinemaBlend, director David Gordon Green was asked about the cameo and how it came about.

Odenkirk appeared as one of Michael Myers’ past victims in a yearbook photo. When the director saw Odenkirk’s yearbook photo, he thought he resembled original actor John Michael Graham. They couldn’t use any photos of Graham due to rights issues, so they went with Odenkirk. Green explained:

"In the original [John] Carpenter film, the Bob character, I wanted to have acknowledgment of all the deaths from the previous film, but we couldn't track [the actor] down or get the rights. Somehow we couldn't clear an image of Bob for our television news broadcast. And so I was frustrated by that because I wanted to acknowledge Bob's death, but we couldn't get footage of Bob. So I Googled 'Bob 1970s High School,' and a photo of Bob Odenkirk popped up that looked just like Bob! So I thought, 'He's probably easier to find; let's go get him!'"

So, that’s what they did! The filmmaker said, “They contacted him and he signed off on the rights to have his high school picture be the Bob in [the movie].” Green was pretty happy with how this all worked out becuase he’s a huge fan of Odenkirk, and the opportunity to include him in Halloween Kills was “just too juicy to ignore.”

So when you watch Halloween Kills, make sure to keep a look out for Bob Odenkirk’s yearbook photo!
