Bobby Farrelly Set to Direct Family Vacation Comedy SPORKINFESSTEN

Director Bobby Farrelly (Dumb & Dumber and There’s Something About Mary) has found his next film project, a “finding your roots” style family vacation comedy titled Sporkinfeesten, which is loosely inspired by true events.

The project is set up at Amazon MGM Studios, and it comes from a spec written by Aaron and Will Eisenberg, which the studio recently acquired, with Cobra Kai‘s Counterbalance Entertainment producing.

There are no details to share in regard to the story.

Farrelly has recently worked on projects such as the Special Olympics dramedy Champions starring Woody Harrelson and Kaitlin Olson. He’s also worked on hit shows like Loudermilk and Trailer Park Boys, along with the award-winning documentary The Lost Son of Havana.

The filmmaker’s most recent film project is the Paramount Pictures holiday comedy Dear Santa, starring Jack Black.

Counterbalance Entertainment is led by writers/producers/directors Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg and they have been working on the final season of Cobra Kai.
