BOND 25 Will Reportedly Center Around Genetic Engineering

Some new plot details have surfaced in regards to Bond 25 that fans might find interesting. Up until this point, all we know regarding the story comes from the following synopsis:

Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

We now know that this new technology might involve genetic engineering. According to Daily Mail, who is on top of the James Bond movie scoops, a source close to the production revealed:

“The movie’s premise is genetic warfare, which is fascinating — but you gotta boil it down and make it accessible. That’s why Phoebe was hired. She has somehow made sense of it.”

He is referring to actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) and it was this need for accessibility and humor that got her hired. It will be interesting to see what kind of genetic engineering and warfare the film will be dealing with.

The film is being directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga and it will star Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Lea Seydoux, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Rory Kinnear, and Jeffrey Wright. There’s also Dali Benssalah, Billy Magnussen, Ana De Armas, David Dencik, Lashanna Lynch, and Rami Malek, who is confirmed to play the villain.

Bond 25 will hit theaters on April 8th, 2020.
