BOOM! Studios Announces New POWER RANGERS Comic RANGER ACADEMY to Debut on Free Comic Book Day 2023
BOOM! Studios recently announced a new comic book series for Power Rangers fans to look forward to. The new series is Ranger Academy and sadly, that’s roughly all we know. It is written by Maria Ingrande Mora with art by Jo Mi-Gyeong and is meant for all ages. The only other things we know is that Ranger Academy will introduce brand new characters and include some familiar faces when it debuts on Free Comic Book Day, May 6, 2023, in Ranger Academy 2023 FCBD Special. The cover for the special will be by Miguel Mercado.
I have a theory that Ranger Academy will somehow be connected to the highly anticipated 30th Anniversary Special that Hasbro is working on. We know that several original cast members are returning for it including Johnny Yong Bosch, Karan Ashley, Steve Cardenas, Catherine Sutherland, Walter Emanuel Jones, and David Yost as well as a new cast member, Charlie Kersh, who will play the original Yellow Ranger, Trini’s, daughter. We also know that Bosch and Ashley were wearing somewhat futuristic uniforms that kind of resemble SPD uniforms and Bosch has said that the badges on the uniform say SPA. One theory is that SPA stands for Space Patrol Academy. Could this be connected to Ranger Academy?
