Brad Pitt Joins Leonardo DiCaprio in Quentin Tarantino's ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD
Quentin Tarantino's upcoming Manson Family film project now has a title. The movie will be called Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and Brad Pitt has officially joined Leonardo DiCaprio in the film.
According to Variety, the story takes place in Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of hippy Hollywood. "DiCaprio will play Rick Dalton, former star of a western TV series, while Pitt will be his longtime stunt double, Cliff Booth." According to Tarantino:
"Both are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don’t recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbor…Sharon Tate."
Charles Manson and the Manson Family is said to serve as a backdrop to the story. The filmmaker added:
"I’ve been working on this script for five years, as well as living in Los Angeles County most of my life, including in 1969, when I was 7 years old. I’m very excited to tell this story of an L.A., and a Hollywood that don’t exist anymore. And I couldn’t be happier about the dynamic teaming of DiCaprio & Pitt as Rick & Cliff."
Tarantino worked with Pitt in Inglourious Basterds and DiCaprio in Django Unchained. This will be the first time the two actors have starred in a film together and it's sure to be another great Tarantino film. I've been looking forward to this movie and I'm happy to see that Pitt signed up to be in it.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood will be released on August 9th, 2019, which happens to be the 50th anniversary of the day that the Manson family committed the LaBianca murders and the day after Tate was killed.
