Bradley Whitford and Jenna Ortega Join the Cast of Pandemic Thriller SONGBIRD

Actors Bradley Whitford (Get Out, The Handmaid’s Tale) and Jenna Ortega (Jane the Virgin, You) have joined the cast of the upcoming pandemic thriller, Songbird. The film began principal photography this week and is the first feature film to get back to shooting since the pandemic shutdown. The two actors join the previously cast Demi Moore, Craig Robinson, Paul Walter Hauser, and Peter Stormare. Songbird is being directed by Adam Mason (Into The Dark), who wrote the script with Simon Boyes (Misconduct).

Songbird has been described as something in the wheelhouse of Paranormal Activity or Cloverfield, and has only had the following synopsis released to describe it:

In 2022 a pandemic ravages the world and its cities. Centering on a handful of people as they navigate the obstacles currently hindering society: disease, martial law, quarantine, and vigilantes.

So it is definitely playing on what we are all going through right now. It has to make you wonder if a lot of the interaction between the characters will take place remotely, from homes, as that’s how most people are communicating these days. It has a good cast, and is among the first projects to touch on the pandemic, so I think it will draw an audience. Are you intrigued by this film?
