BRAND NEW CHERRY FLAVOR Trailer - An Aspiring Director Falls Down a Wild "Rabbit Hole of Sex, Magic, Revenge, and Kittens"
Netflix has released a trailer for an upcoming limited series that wasn’t on my radar until now. It’s titled Brand New Cherry Flavor, and it comes from Channel Zero creator Nick Antosca and Lenore Zion. The series is set in 1990s Hollywood and it follows a young filmmaker who is looking to make a movie but in the process, she “tumbles down a hallucinatory rabbit hole of sex, magic, revenge – and kittens.”
The movie stars Catherine Keener as a killer cat lady and Rosa Salazar (Alita: Battle Angle) as Lisa N. Nova, who “comes to LA dead set on directing her first movie. But when she trusts the wrong person and gets stabbed in the back, everything goes sideways and a dream project turns into a nightmare. This particular nightmare has zombies, hit men, supernatural kittens, and a mysterious tattoo artist who likes to put curses on people. And Lisa’s going to have to figure out some secrets from her own past in order to get out alive.”
The movie looks like it’s going to be an interesting and savage story. It also stars Eric Lange, Jeff Ward, Manny Jacinto, and it will hit Netflix on August 13th.
