Brazil Is Still Causing Problems for Disney's Acquisition of Fox

Many fans cannot wait for the acquisition of 21st Century Fox by Disney to be completed. Disney is even planning on the acquisition being finalized by the end of June. However, even with all the progress being reported, there are still some snags. Regulators in Brazil still are not completely sold on it. Bob Iger, Disney’s CEO, even took a trip to Brazil recently in an attempt to help regulators relax about the decision. Unfortunately, reports indicate that Iger left Brazil before an agreement was made. The regulating body of Brazil, Cade, has until March 17 to make their decision and their next meeting is said to be scheduled for February 27.

Brazil is not the only problem Disney needs to overcome, though. Mexico hasn’t agreed to the deal yet either. In addition, in order for the merger to be approved in the United States, Disney has to sell 22 regional sports networks, and we haven’t heard of any takers there. While the deal may seem to be good on the surface, there are still a few things that need ironing out.
