Breaking Bad's Jesse Plemons Up For Lead in STAR WARS: EPISODE VII
Breaking Bad and Friday Night Light's co-star Jesse Plemons is up for a lead role in J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII! Plemons is a solid young actor. I've enjoyed watching him in the series that he's been in, and it would be really interesting to see him in the Star Wars universe.
The news comes from The Wrap who says that the actor is scheduled to meet with Abrams next week to discuss the sequel. Sources say that he has "already taped an audition that was well-received by those involved in the casting process, and he’ll by flying in to Los Angeles from Austin, Texas for a second audition that will bring him face-to-face with Abrams."
The site claims that Plemons is not only up for the coveted role but is "a favorite" to land it, and that "a third individual confirmed that Plemons is in the running and a serious contender." There's no word on who he would be playing in the film, but I can't help but think he would be up for the part of Luke Skywalker's son. Whoever he ends up playing, I hope he gets the part. He also co-starred in Battleship and The Master.
Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford are all expected to reprise their roles. There have also been rumors of Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Sullivan Stapleton being up for roles in the movie, but as of right now nothing is official.
Star Wars: Episode VII comes out on December 18th, 2015.
