Brendan Fraser Cast as the Villain in DC's BATGIRL Movie
Brendan Fraser (The Mummy, Doom Patrol) has been cast in DC’s upcoming Batgirl movie. He will star alongside Leslie Grace, who is taking on the role of Barbara Gordon. Fraser is going to be playing the main villain in the film, and it’s being reported that he might be taking on the role of Firefly.
It’ll be fun to see Fraser play a DC villain! The actor has been getting a lot of love from the fans lately, and there’s no doubt that they are going to be super stoked to here that Fraser is joining the upcoming Batgirl movie.
The movie is being directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah from a script written by Christina Hodson, who previously wrote Bumblebee as well as DC’s Birds of Prey and The Flash. Kristin Burr, who recently worked on Cruella, is producing the film, which is going to be released exclusively on HBO Max. Burr said in a previous statement:
‘With Batgirl, we hope to take the audience on a fun ride and see a different side of Gotham. Christina’s script is crackling with spirit. Adil and Bilall have an excited and joyous energy which is infectious, making them the perfect filmmakers for this Batproject. And I’m just psyched I get to be part of the DC universe, which is super cool.”
There are no plot details to share, but the directors have previously confirmed that Batman will be in the movie. We don’t know which version of Batman we will see in the film, but the filmmakers say that it would be the “real Batman.” We’ll eventually find out who the real Batman is.
