Brennan Lee Mulligan Answers A Few Of Our Questions About EXANDRIA UNLIMITED: CALAMITY
Exandria Unlimited: Calamity has been underway for a few weeks now. I was able to have the chance to ask dungeon master Brennan Lee Mulligan a few questions about some of his thoughts before the mini series aired. Here’s what he had to say.
Was there any piece of information about the calamity from past campaigns that was particularly inspiring for you for this mini series?
To me, the connection between the faults of the Age of Arcanum as a whole and the struggles between divinities and how those have evolved in Exandrian lore was the center of this narrative from a bird’s eye view.
Dungeons & Dragons is well known for having crazy stuff go down, do you think there's a possibility that by some crazy stroke of luck someone will end up surviving the calamity?
Without getting too far ahead of ourselves, we know that the humanoid population of Exandria is a third the size at the end of the Calamity as it was at the beginning. However, and not to be too much of a downer, the Calamity lasts for almost two centuries - Not many who saw the start of the Calamity will live to see its ending.
What is it like to take over someone else's world for such a major historical event?
Humbling in the extreme! It was a joy, an honor and a pleasure, and I couldn’t have done it without Matt’s guidance and vision of this incredible period in his world’s history.
