Brenton Thwaites Will Play Dick Grayson a.k.a. Robin in DC's TITANS Series

Brenton Thwaites (The GiverPirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) has been cast in the role of Dick Grayson a.k.a. Robin in the upcoming live-action DC series Titans. He's a pretty talented young actor and I didn't expect an actor like him to end up in the role as he's been in a bunch of big movies. This will be his first TV gig.

Producer Geoff Johns had this to say about the casting in a statement:

“Dick Grayson is one of the most important and iconic heroes in the DC universe, and it wasn’t easy to find him but we have. Brenton has the emotional depth, heart, danger and physical presence of Batman’s former protege and the Titans’ future leader. We’re extremely lucky he’s chosen to bring his talents to this project and this character.”

I'm sure Thwaites will be great in the role and he's got the look. It's definitely something that he'll have fun with! Thwaites joins the previously cast Anna Diop as Starfire and Teagan Croft as Raven

The story for Titans revolves "around the eponymous group of young Super Heroes-to-be from the DC Universe. The action series centers on Dick Grayson (probably best known for his alter ego as Robin), who emerges from the shadow of Batman to become Nightwing, the leader of a fearless band of new Super Heroes including Starfire, Raven, and many others."

The show is being developed by Greg Berlanti (Arrow, DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow, The Flash, Supergirl), Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind, Cinderella Man, Star Trek: Discovery), and Johns (The Flash, Arrow). Titans is set to premiere sometime in 2018 and I'm hoping they deliver a great series.
