Brian K. Vaughan Offers Update on Y: THE LAST MAN Series Adaptation

About a week ago, Brian K. Vaughan offered an update on the FX series adaptation of Y: The Last Man and I missed it. In case you missed it too, Vaughan shared an update on Instagram explaining that the series is still alive and set to arrive in 2020.

In fact, he had just gotten out of the writing room with the new showrunner Eliza Clark and her team along with co-creator Pia Guerra. Vaughan continues to say that he recognizes this project is hard to adapt, but fans should expect some good news soon.

The show must go on! Sorry for two Hollywood sellout posts in one day, but I just got back from the writers’ room for Y (still coming to FX in 2020!), and I’m very pleased to say the series is in excellent hands with new showrunner @elizaaclarkw and her intimidating squad of all-stars. TV is goddamn hard, and if the last 17 years have taught co-creator @pia.guerra and me anything, it’s that our story is particularly challenging to adapt, so I’m very grateful to everyone who’s helped get Yorick & Co. this far, especially Michael Green and Aïda Croal. The series is simply called Y and the story is set in a post-apocalyptic world in which “a cataclysmic event has decimated every male save for one lone human. The new world order of women will explore gender, race, class and survival.“

The current cast of the series includes Barry Keoghan, Diane Lane, Imogen Poots, Lashana Lynch, Juliana Canfield, Timothy Hutton, with Marin Ireland, Nick Grad and Amber Tamblyn.
