Brie Larson Says She and Her Fellow Women of Marvel Have Made It Clear They Want an All Female Movie

In a recent interview with Captain Marvel herself, Brie Larson, Variety asked the actress if fans can hope for the reality of an all-female superhero movie. With the incredible women who have assembled across the MCU, especially in the most recent third phase, rumors started circulating about the possibility of a real life A-Force film in the future. This seemed like even more of a sure bet when in the final battle against Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, we got to see Captain Marvel, Okoye, Shuri, Valkyrie, Scarlet Witch, Wasp, Gamora, Nebula, Mantis, and Pepper Potts assemble and kick some ass.

But amongst the chatter, Larson was asked directly if the all female film has been “truly discussed” among the higher ups of Marvel. Larson responded by saying:

“I will say that a lot of the female cast members from Marvel walked up to Kevin and we were like, ‘We are in this together, we want to do this.’ What that means, I have no idea. You know, I’m not in charge of the future of Marvel, but it is something that we’re really passionate about and we love and I feel like if enough people out in the world talk about how much they want it, maybe it’ll happen.”

I think it’s pretty clear that fans would be down for that. Larson went on to express her love for her character and her appreciation for the roles filled by women in the MCU.

“I love Carol Danvers so much and I love playing her and I love the way that she interacts with people and the way that she’s grown into herself. So, I’m excited to see where that goes. But there’s so many other new characters that I love, as well, that I’m excited to see and it’s so hard to imagine now where we’re at with these stories. Them existing without any one of those characters. It’s hard to pull that apart.”

So now that even the stars are making their wishes clear, hopefully that plants a seed with MCU President Kevin Feige, and he can make this a reality somewhere down the road. Would you be excited to see a Secret Wars style A-Force film on the big screen?
