Brief Yet Unsettling Teaser For THE RAID Director Gareth Evans' New Film APOSTLE
The director of The Raid films, Gareth Evans has a new film starring Dan Stevens coming to Netflix called Apostle and it sounds like it’s going to be quite an insane movie. The movie has been described as “a harrowing occult fable where the only thing more horrifying than madness is the sinister reality behind it.”
Now today, we have our first footage from the film in a very brief teaser that was shared by Evans. It may only feature a few snippets of footage but that footage is pretty unsettling.
The director also announced that we’ll be getting a full trailer for the film to enjoy on September 17th. Just in case you need a reminder of what this movie is about, here’s the synopsis:
London, 1905. Prodigal son Thomas Richardson (Dan Stevens) has returned home, only to learn that his sister is being held for ransom by a religious cult. Determined to get her back at any cost, Thomas travels to the idyllic island where the cult lives under the leadership of the charismatic Prophet Malcolm (Michael Sheen). As Thomas infiltrates the island’s community, he learns that the corruption of mainland society that they claim to reject has infested the cult’s ranks nonetheless – and uncovers a secret far more evil than he could have imagined.
Apostle also stars Lucy Boynton (Murder on the Orient Express, The Blackcoat’s Daughter), Mark Lewis Jones (Stella, Keeping Faith), Bill Milner (IBoy, X-Men: First Class), Kristine Froseth (Rebel in the Rye, Sierra Burgess is a Loser) Paul Higgins (Utopia, Couple in a Hole), and Michael Sheen (Home Again, Passengers).
The movie is set to be released on October 12th. Check out the footage below:
