British Actor Josh Whitehouse Will Take Take on a Lead Role in HBO's GAME OF THRONES Prequel Series

HBO has cast British actor Josh Whitehouse in a lead role in HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel pilot, which comes from writer Jane Goldman and producer George R.R. Martin. He will join the previously cast Naomi Watts, who will play a “charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret.”

This is just the beginning of what is sure to end up being a big ensemble cast and I’m looking forward to learn more about the story and the character that will fill it.

I’m not really that familiar with Whitehouse’s work, but he starred in a film called Northern Soul and most recently wrapped the lead role in The Happy Worker. Whitehouse is also set to star in MGM’s musical retelling of the cult classic Valley Girl, and he’ll be playing the lead role originally played be Nicolas Cage. He currently can be seen in the BBC series Poldark. He’s also a model.

The series is set thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones, “the project chronicles the world's descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour.” The network teased the plot with the following logline:

"Only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros' history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend… it's not the story we think we know."

I know we’ve got a long way to go before we see this series, but it’s exciting to know that we are getting a new story set in the Westeros.
