Britt Robertson Joins the Cast of Spinoff Series THE ROOKIE: FEDS at ABC

Actress Britt Robertson (Tomorrowland, Big Sky) has signed on to join the cast of the ABC spinoff series The Rookie: Feds. She joins previously cast star Niecy Nash-Betts (Reno 911!, Claws) in the hour-long police drama, which was co-created by Alexi Hawley, who created The Rookie, and produced another great Nathan Fillion-starrer, Castle, and Terence Paul Winter, producer of the two series as well.

In the series, Niecy Nash-Betts stars as Simone Clark, the oldest rookie in the FBI Academy. The spinoff was introduced in a two-part arc on Season 4 of The Rookie, where Officer John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) and the LA division of the FBI enlist the help of Simone Clark when one of her former students is a suspect in a terror attack.

Robertson joins Nash-Betts; Frankie Faison, who plays Christopher “Cutty” Clark; and Felix Solis, who guest-starred as Special Agent Matthew Garza in the two Rookie episodes, which served as backdoor pilots for The Rookie: Feds. All three are continuing on the new series as series regulars.

In the series, “Robertson will play Laura Stensen. She is the “black sheep” of a family of brilliant academics and the youngest person ever allowed into the FBI’s behavioral analysis unit. But after discovering that her boyfriend had been cheating on her with her best friend, Laura fell into a slump – how could a criminal profiler miss that the people closest to her were liars? Given a lifeline in Garza’s new unit, Laura’s ready to throw her socially awkward, workaholic, book-smart self-back into the job, hoping to get her mojo back.”

The Rookie: Feds will debut on ABC this Fall on September 27th. Will you be tuning in?
