Bruce Campbell Hopes To See EVIL DEAD Franchises Collide and is Fine with Younger Actor Playing Ash

Bruce Campbell officially retired from the role of Ash Williams when Ash Vs. Evil Dead was cancelled by Starz. It’s still a shame that the series got cancelled. It was pretty damn entertaining and I would have loved to see the story continue.

But, just because Campbell is done with the character doesn’t mean that we will never see another Evil Dead movie with another version of Ash Williams. In fact, Bruce Campbell is perfectly fine with a younger new actor taking on the role! While talking to EW, he said:

“I’d be perfectly fine if they find some young Ash, do some new incarnation, let some other poor bastard get covered in blood. It’s all good.”

Campbell went on to say that he hopes we will see more variations of Evil Dead that could possibly bring together characters from the 2013 remake and the series. He’d like to see those two universe collide.

“I hope there are very many variations of Evil Dead. You’ve got the leftover characters from the series, you’ve got the characters from the remake that we did a few years ago. You can intersect universes.”

That would certainly be interesting to see if they did it! I really loved that 2013 remake and I’ve been hoping that we would see a sequel one day.

As for a younger actor taking on the role of Ash, even though Campbell is for it, the fans would be totally against it. Campbell is Ash Williams and it’s hard to think of anyone else filling those shoes. What do you think? Would you be ok with a younger actor taking on the legendary role of Ash?
