Bruce Springsteen Biopic DELIVER ME FROM NOWHERE Adds Paul Walter Hauser to Its Ensemble

The Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere has Paul Walter Hauser in talks to join its ensemble cast. The Emmy and Golden Globe-winner has previously starred in popular movies and series Cobra Kai, Richard Jewell, and Black Bird.

While not confirmed, sources say he will play long time guitar tech Mike Batlan in the 20th Century biopic. Jeremy Allen White is set to play Springsteen with Scott Cooper directing the pic which tells the story of the making of the classic Springsteen album Nebraska.

20th Century closed a deal this past April to finance and distribute the pic which follows the rock n roll genius who after grappling with personal demons and trying to wrap his arms around becoming a global superstar, Springsteen wrote and recorded Nebraska, the 1982 album that rivals Joni Mitchell’s Blue as one of the most emotionally raw, dark and honest albums in recent music history.

Batlan was the long-time guitar tech for Springsteen, who in the rockstar’s early days had Baltan build a recording studio in the bedroom of his apartment. He would eventually have him be one of his main tour tech guys in the ‘70s and early ‘80s.

Hauser has been busy setting up his future slate starting with playing Chris Farley in the new biopic The Chris Farley Show. The package, which has him starring and Josh Gadd directing sold to New Line earlier this year in a deal that lines up for another possible award season run for Hauser.

He also recently landed a secret role in the Marvel Studios Fantastic Four movie. He is also taking on the role of Captain Ed in the untitled Naked Gun reboot from Paramount Pictures.
