Bruce Willis is Reportedly in Talks For a Sixth DIE HARD Movie
A few years ago, there was a sixth Die Hard film in development at Fox titled McClane. That film project fell apart after Disney bought Fox. Well, according to entertainment scooper Daniel Richtman, Bruce Willis is in talks for another sequel. There are no other details on what this version of Die Hard 6 will entail, but if they come up with a solid new story for McClane that would be cool.
The last couple of films, Live Free or Die Hard and A Good Day To Die Hard, weren’t as good as the first three films. But, I sure would love to see another Die Hard film that can capture the same magic as those first three movies. Could this sixth Die Hard movie be able to pull it off? Only time will tell.
The last version of Die Hard 6 that was in development would have been set in 1979 when McClane was fighting crime as a New York City cop as well as in the present day. It was going to show how he "became a die hard kind of guy."
I actually like that concept and I kinda hope that it carries over to this new project. Who knows, though, maybe they came up with something better.
When previously addressing the jumping between the two different eras of John McClane, producer Leonardo di Bonaventura explained that each era will be explored equally:
"I don’t know how you do Die Hard without Bruce. The idea that he’s not very significant in this movie is not accurate at all. We are gonna explore John McClane in his twenties. But just as prominent is the 60-year-old version."
What do you think about the possibility of seeing Willis reprise his role as John McClane for a sixth time? What would you like to see in a new Die Hard story?
