Bryan Cranston Discusses Why He Wants to Play the Super Villain Mr. Sinister
Bryan Cranston recently confirmed that Mr. Sinister will be in director James Mangold’s Wolverine 3. This is a villain that Bryan Cranston said he would want to play. The actor previously explained:
"You know what I'd like to do? I'd like to do some big superhero villain in some Marvel classic. Create one from scratch… I don’t know what I would do but it would be nasty."
He later clarified saying that that big superhero villain he wants to play is Mr. Sinister. In a recent interview with Geeking Out the actor talked about why he wants to play the character:
“Mr. Sinister has always been someone. It would be very cool. I’m interested in creating a role. I’d love to do something that hasn’t been done before. Lex Luthor, there’s been a lot of that. I’ve been asked to take a look at Commissioner Gordon, and it’s like I would be one in several. I would kind of like to carve out a new identity.”
He could totally do that with Mr. Sinister since he’s never been adapted for the big screen before. Cranston would be freakin’ awesome, and I’d love to see what his vision of the character would be. It’s probably too late for him, though, as there’s a big chance that Richard E. Grant is playing the role in Wolverine 3. If Mangold hasn't cast an actor in the role of Mr. Sinister yet, they better reach out to Cranston!
If they don’t, I’m sure Marvel Studios will go after him for a role in one of their upcoming superhero films. They’d be stupid not to!
