Bryan Cranston is Reportedly Wanted For a Major Role in The UNCHARTED Movie with Tom Holland
Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston is apparently wanted for a big supporting role in the upcoming feature film adaptation of the hit adventurous video game Uncharted.
The film project is being developed by Shawn Levy (Stranger Things) and Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Homecoming) is set to star in the film as a young Nathan Drake. I think it's a pretty risky move to make an Uncharted prequel film, but I hope that it turns out good!
Cranston's possible involvement comes from Hashtag Show, but they don't have any solid information on who exactly the actor will be playing in the film, other than the fact it will be a major supporting role.
However, it seems very likely that if cast he would take on the role of Sulivan a.k.a. Sully. The upcoming film was inspired by a sequence from the third Uncharted game which focuses on the young thief Drake, and his first encounter with the professional rogue, Sully. Sully ends up becoming Drake's mentor and father figure.
I think Cranston would be perfect for the role of Sully, so if he ends up getting cast, that would be awesome. Now that I envision him in the role, it's kinda hard to imagine anyone else in it. He's got the look, the attitude, the humor, and the badassery.
There might be some concern about his age as the film should feature a younger version of the character. Holland previously mentioned names such as Chris Pratt and Jake Gyllenhaal as potential actors to take on the role of Sully. However, if they want to cast Cranston, you won't get any complaints from me.
When previously talking about the film adaptation, Levy described it as an “Indiana Jones-type franchise” for a new generation of moviegoers. You can read what he had to say about the project here.
What do you think about Cranston possibly taking on the role of Sully in Uncharted?
