Bryan Singer Discusses Wolverine Tease in New X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Trailer
Yesterday, fans were treated to an exciting new trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse. It focused on Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique taking charge of the X-Men and leading them into battle against Apocalypse and his four horsemen. The trailer also featured an awesome little clip of Wolverine in what looked to be the Weapon X facility.
It was great to see confirmation that Wolverine would be in the film, but we are still left with questions. How big is his role in the movie? How does his character fit into the story and move it forward? Well, in an interview with Empire, director Bryan Singer discussed this brief clip of Wolverine and teased what else we can expect from Wolverine's inclusion in the movie:
"Make of that what you want. I will say, it’s not simple. There’s something more pivotal that occurs with that. It hints to a sequence that again fits within the canon of all six movies, and the birth of a new direction. It’s not insignificant, nor is it simply just a throw-in. It’s not the only shot you’re gonna see, let’s put it that way."
Out of everything in this movie, the addition of Wolverine is one of the most intriguing aspects of it. We heard for so long that he wasn't going to be a part of it, but he clearly is, and according to Singer, it's a pivotal role and it fits in with what we've come to know about the character over the course of the six X-Men films that have been made thus far. It'll be great to actually see how this whole Wolverine thing plays out in the story.
X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 18th.
