Bryan Singer Says X-MEN: APOCALYPSE is The "True Birth Of The X-Men"

A new piece of concept art was revealed by Entertainment Weekly for Bryan Singer's highly anticipated film X-Men: Apocalypse. It came with a brief statement from the director, who said:

"This is kind of a conclusion of six X-Men films, yet a potential rebirth of younger, newer characters. This is the true birth of the X-Men. This is how it happens."

It sounds to me like this next film is going to be the beginning of a whole new slew of X-Men films that will feature the new cast that we'll be introduced to in Apocalypse. I guess this is the film that will take the X-Men movie franchise to a whole other level.

The concept art you see above features a scene of someone disturbing the regeneration tomb of the title villain.

The film stars Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, James McAvoy as Professor X, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler, and Olivia Munn as Psylocke. Then there's Hugh Jackman, who is rumored to make a cameo as Wolverine.

X-Men: Apocalypse will be released in theaters on May 27th, 2016.
