Bryan Singer Teases Classic X-Men Costume Look in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE

We've seen a few photos from the set of X-Men: Apocalypse and we were shown some extremely cool footage at Comic-Con. One thing we haven't really seen, though, are the costumes that these young X-Men will be suiting up in. While talking to Yahoo! Movies, director Bryan Singer was asked about the possibility of seeing the X-Men heroes in their classic colorful costumes, and this is what he said:

"I will say that in 'X-Men: Apocalypse,' there is a chance -- without giving anything away -- that you may get closer to seeing what I think, Mr. X-Men News, you are interested in seeing. I know it's something I've been interested in, I just always wanted to do it the right way."

He goes on to discuss his plans with how he's handling the younger versions of mutants in this story:

"Young Jean, young Scott and young Storm -- and frankly, young Nightcrawler. These are very different characters than they were in the films 'X-Men 1,' "2,' and '3.' They are at times in their lives where they are probably at the most opposite they were, or they were to become. That's kind of a thrill for me, to go back and take characters that I had crafted so many years ago and then flip them completely on their side and show how they evolved and how they began."

Singer then talks about Oscar Isaac's Apocalypse, who he says is going to make the biggest impression on audiences. We got a taste of him in the footage shown at Comic-Con, and he's pretty damn diabolic. There were some shots of him in there that gave me the goosebumps.

“X-Men has always centered around the fight between mutants and humans. This one’s a bit different. It deals with the concept of ancient mutanism, gods and men. It deals with issues that are global. Apocalypse makes no distinction between humans and mutants, only between the weak and the strong.”

Apocalypse is such a great villain, and I love that he's finally made his way into the movies. I'm so excited to see how this newest X-Men story plays out. The movie hits theaters on May 27th, 2016! You can catch up on all of our previous X-Men: Apocalypse news here.
