BULLET TRAIN Star Andrew Koji Wants To Star in GHOST OF TSUSHIMA Movie

John Wick franchise director Chad Stahelski is developing a film adaptation of PlayStation’s beautiful and badass Samurai game, Ghost of Tsushima. The film is being produced by Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions, and Takashi Doscher (Only, Still) is writing the script.

No casting announcements have been made yet, but Andrew Koji, who starred in Snake Eyes and the recent action film Bullet Train, wants to star in the live-action adaptation. In a recent conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Koji said that he's currently campaigning for the role of Jin Sakai, the main samurai character in Ghost of Tsushima. He said:

"I'm going after Ghost of Tsushima — that's what I'm going to do. I would love that. I think I can do a really good Jin Sakai. I can bring my own spin to it. I've played [the video game] twice now. I was thinking about it because [the adaptation has] been on the horizon, all the team talking about it. It would have to stand by itself, because the game's so good. Let that exist by itself, and the film should be something slightly different. That's the problem with those video game films."

Koji would be awesome in the role of Koji and I would love to see him actually land the role. I think he’s a fantastic actor that could totally make this work!

The game, which was developed by Sucker Punch Productions, centers around samurai warrior Jin Sakai, the last surviving member of his clan, who must set aside the traditions that have shaped him as a warrior to wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Tsushima.

In the late 13th century, the Mongol empire has laid waste to entire nations along their campaign to conquer the East. Tsushima Island is all that stands between mainland Japan and a massive Mongol invasion fleet led by the ruthless and cunning general, Khotun Khan. As the island burns in the wake of the first wave of the Mongol assault, samurai warrior Jin Sakai stands as one of the last surviving members of his clan. He is resolved to do whatever it takes, at any cost, to protect his people and reclaim his home. He must set aside the traditions that have shaped him as a warrior to forge a new path, the path of the Ghost, and wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Tsushima.

I’ve been looking forward to seeing how this movie turns out and I totally support Koji on his journey to try and land the role! Do you think that he would make a good choice to star in the film?
