Bullied Young Man Gets Invited To The AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR World Premiere By Chris Evans After Video Goes Viral
I freakin' hate bullies. I was bullied all the time when I was growing up because I was short and into all the crazy cool geeky things that weren't as popular then as they are now. Hell, I still get bullied today! I guess that comes with the territory of running a geek blog.
Anyway, this weekend a heartbreaking video went viral of a young man named Keaton talking about how hard it is for him because of the bullying he has to endure at school. If you haven't seen the video, you can watch it below. It came with the following note from Keaton's mom:
For the record, Keaton asked to do this AFTER he had he me pick him up AGAIN because he was afraid to go to lunch. My kids are by no stretch perfect, & at home, he's as all boy as they come, but by all accounts he's good at school. Talk to your kids. I've even had friends of mine tell me they're kids were only nice to him to get him to mess with people. We all know how it feels to want to belong, but only a select few know how it really feels not to belong anywhere.
After the video went viral, many people reached out to Keaton to offering him words of comfort. Three people, in particular, included Chris Evans, Mark Hamill, and Mark Ruffalo. Chris Evans even invited Keaton and his mom to the world premiere of Avengers: Infinity War next year! How freakin' cool is that! Something like that has got to make Keaton's day! You can read all the tweets below.
Stay strong, Keaton. Don’t let them make you turn cold. I promise it gets better. While those punks at your school are deciding what kind of people they want to be in this world, how would you and your mom like to come to the Avengers premiere in LA next year? https://t.co/s1QwCQ3toi

Keaton-Don't waste time wondering why a bully would be so mean-They're sad people who think hurting others will make them feel better because they really don't like themselves-They're just jealous because you're so smart & handsome❤️Your friend-mh https://t.co/SUMw3OoCTm

Bullying is not okay. It's sad that people feel they have to put someone else down to make them feel better about themselves. This can cause long-term damage to people and push them into states of heavy anxiety and depression later in life. I would hope that one day the world would be free of bullying, but I seriously doubt that's going to happen. In the meantime, there are people out there who do care and do have big enough hearts to reach out to help those individuals like Keaton who need help getting through the hard times.
There is a GoFundMe page called "Stand Up For Keaton" that is raising money for Keaton and his family.
