After a jaded magazine writer (Emmy winner Matthew Rhys) is assigned a profile of Fred Rogers, he overcomes his skepticism, learning about kindness, love and forgiveness from America’s most beloved neighbor.”

The movie also stars Matthew Rhys (The Americans), Chris Cooper (American Beauty), Susan Kelechi Watson (This is Us), and many more. In the story, “a cynical journalist begrudgingly accepts an assignment to write a profile piece on the beloved icon and finds his perspective on life transformed.” You can read the piece Junod wrote here.

The movie is being directed by Marielle Heller (Diary of a Teenage Girl) from a script written by Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster. The movie is set to be released on November 22, 2019.
