CALL OF DUTY's Free Battle Royale Mode Called Warzone is Available Today
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is one of the most popular games out there and now they’re launching a free battle royale mode called Warzone. This new mode is available today on PC, PS4, and Xbox One and will feature 150 players at once going until only one team stands.
Now, Warzone offers two distinct games that can be played for free. The first is a simple Battle Royale in Verdansk with 50 teams of 3. As you compete you’ll gain Cash which can be used to purchase equipment and other useful items at Buy Stations. In addition, each 3-person squad can take Contracts during a match to get awesome payouts including Cash and rare loot to get an upper hand.
One thing that sets this apart from other Battle Royale games is that you can come back from the dead. If you defeat another fallen player in a 1v1 match called The Gulag, you’ll be able to redeploy. Also, Cash can be used to purchase Self-Revive Kits to automatically bring you back and Squad Buyback items can be used to revive your teammates!
The second game is called Plunder and it’s all about getting Cash. The team with the most Cash at the end wins. You can earn cash from Supply Boxes, eliminating opponents, completing those Contracts from before, and controlling key Cash deposit locations (think king of the hill). In this game players get unlimited respawns though so dying isn’t the end.
