Capcom Announces CAPCOM ARCADE 2ND STADIUM Releasing This Summer
Capcom recently announced Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium. This is a collection of 32 classic arcade titles for fans to enjoy on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One on July 22. Some highlights include Darkstalkers – Night Warriors –, Megaman – The Power Battle –, Street Fighter Alpha 3, and much more. The games will now offer online leaderboards; display settings including aspect ratio, filters, frames, etc.; gameplay options such as difficulty and speed; a rewind feature; and invincibility mode.
Now we get to the part that is going to be a bit more controversial. When you purchase Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium, you don’t automatically get all the games. Instead, you get access to Sonson. If you pre-order before August 5, you’ll also get Display Frames Set 1 for customizing your display options and if you pre-order the game or purchase Capcom Fighting Collection before September 30, you’ll get Three Wonders which has three arcade games in one. Then, each additional title you want will cost $3.99. You can choose to spend $39.99 to purchase Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium Bundle 1 to get access to all 32 titles, but it seems like a roundabout way of doing it. This is nice because if you only care about a couple games you can save some money, but if you want all of them I can see it being annoying at the least.
If you already own Capcom Arcade Stadium which was released last year, you will receive the Capcom Arcade Stadium Music & Lights and Instruction Card Backgrounds bonus content. It’s a fun little bonus. Finally, the team is making Street Fighter II – The World Warrior – free in Capcom Arcade Stadium through July 21 to celebrate the game’s 1 year anniversary and Capcom’s 39th anniversary.
