CAPTAIN AMERICA 4 Will Be Helmed by THE CLOVERFIELD PARADOX Director Julius Onah
Not long after The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was released, Marvel Studios announced that they were developing Captain America 4 with series creator and showrunner Malcolm Spellman developing it. It’s now been announced that the director of Netflix’s The Cloverfield Paradox, Julius Onah, is set to helm the film.
Unfortunately, this doesn’t spark much confidence as The Cloverfield Paradox wasn’t a very good movie. But, with Kevin Feige‘s guidance on the film, maybe Onah will deliver another good Marvel movie. But, there was a very high bar set by the Russo Bros. for Captain America films, especially with Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War. Does this creative team have what it takes to reach that bar?
Anthony Mackie will return as Sam Wilson, a.k.a. Captain America, and there’s a chance that he’ll be joined by Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes. We could also see some other familiar faces from the series including the likes of Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, and possibly Daniel Bruhl as Zemo.
There are no details on what the film will entail, so as of right now we can only speculate on what the film will entail. But, I’m looking forward to seeing Sam Wilson’s story arc continue as the new Captain America!
Spellman is writing the screenplay with Dalan Musson, a staff writer on The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Maybe we’ll learn more about the film at Comic-Coin later this month!
